Spindle water question...
I've got a water cooled spindle that I bought with my HD4. Rather than depend on the $5 POS Chinese pump, I bought a CW-3000 Chiller off Amazon. Just installed it and appears to be working well. However, the water bucket I previously used was moldy / slimy when I took it out from under the table. Ot...

Spiral flute vs. O flute bits
I’ve been using up and down cut spiral end mills. The down cut bits pack chips into my profile cut. A pita to clean out and I know that can’t be good for the bit. The uncut bits frequently leave rough bottoms and usually fuzzy at the perimeter. I’ve been doing a little reading about O flute bits. Ca...

Re: help with 1 year anniversary project
I like this idea. Is there a tool (or an easy process) where you can create a shape (in this case - a heart) then fill it with text? I know you can do a square or rectangle. But say I wanted to put the pledge inside a star? It’d be a pita to resize the text then change ctrl-newline constantly.

Re: Water cooled spindle
I'm amazed that the gantry will flex. I bought this because I thought the metal (aluminum?) would be stronger than that. This isn't a complaint against my shark, just a bit of a disappointment. My first CNC was a bobscnc made of 1/4" plywood. I thought I'd solved the flex issue with the shark. Oh we...

pinout for LED?
Is there a pinout on the controller or the spindle controller that I can tap to install a small LED strip?

Is it permissible to install Vcarve on a second laptop? I'd love to be able to design in the house as well as the workshop!

Re: Setting up water cooled spindle
Thanks you. Looks good - and I'll bet it's sturdy as heck! Mine is wood and hopefully it'll stand up to the rigors of the Shark. I'm thinking about putting a second 3/4" MDF on top, just to make it a little heavier.
