Installing and Changing Bits on Spindle
I got the water cooled spindle with the Shark HD4 when that promotion was running at Rockler. I am finally getting to setting up the spindle. I found a video for a different machine that shows installing the bit. It shows that the spring collet should snap into the tightening nut and then the nut wi...

Re: Z axis doesn't hold when power is off
My Shark HD4 does the same thing. The Spindle drops down when the power is off.
I have a 2x4 piece I slip under when the power is off.
I had not considered the Emergency Power Off does not shut the Spindle off.
I will have to really watch that.
Sorry, I do not have a solution to the problem.

Re: Work Bench/Table for Shark HD4 Extended Bed
Water reservoir, for the power cord drill the hole close to top then using utility knife cut straight down from top of bucket to the hole then spread the cut apart to get power cord in and then the bucket lid will seal it tight, no dust! Thanks for the tip for the reservoir. The picture helps visua...

Re: Water Cooled Spindle Flow Indicator
Thank you for the responses.
I got sidetracked with another project and am now back to setting up the Shark.
I ordered this flow indicator from Amazon and will try to get everything up and running this week:

Re: Antlers hotel
Thanks for the endorsement of Aspire.
I am teetering on upgrading from the V-Carve Desktop that came with the Shark HD4 to either V-Carve Pro or Aspire.
Your work is so well done, why not shoot for the moon!

Re: Router Bit Storage
Great Ideas.
I am guessing that the wall-mounted bit holder retains the bits tight enough that they aren't likely to slip out.
Thanks for posting

Re: Shark HD4 watercooled spindle install
Received the surfacing bits in 2 days from Amazon, delivered on Easter Sunday at the front door. My shop is in my walkout basement near the furnace. The furnace is a recent replacement and has the plastic pipes providing fresh air into the enclosed furnace cabinet. I still have the high and low air ...

Water Cooled Spindle Flow Indicator
While attending the Colorado CNC Users Group meeting this week, I saw that the Legacy Maverick our host uses had a flow indicator on the hose going to his water cooled spindle. It struck me that once the fluid is flowing you can't see the motion by observing the hose, and my reservoir is an all whit...

I have not done a spoil board yet ( I have used other pieces to raise projects above the bed so far) but here is what I will purchase if and when I do it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071748JQN/?coliid=I1595BAT9Q76ZL&colid=2H9VIH7T4GGYQ&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Thanks.
