Thanks, that what I ended up using for the engraving, but was wondering what Bit people are using to do the cutout of aluminum and the tool settings. Like an 1/8” end mill, who makes a good one? Thanks again

Hi, I want to do some plaques and name plates made out of brass coated aluminum. I have never worked with aluminum before so this is new to me. The brass coated aluminum is .0415” thick. I’m not sure what toolpath to use for the engraving or what bit to use, could someone tell me which one’s to use....

Cant open an older file of mine

Hi, I am trying to open an older file I made in 2012 and it comes up with an error that says failed to open file, with the name of the file, where it is, and Code 103. Does anyone know why it can’t open? Thanks Tim

Thanks sharkcutup, I when back and checked the cable and the cord was pulled out about a 1/8" on the touch plate end. I pushed it back in and tried it again and it worked without an error. I never thought to check that because it would give the different Z distances on all four corners and the middl...
