Re: Vcarving jagged on each depth pass

Yep, that was the finished path. But, I think I did it wrong. I chose a pocket path & used my 60deg vbit as the main one along with a clearance end mill. So, it never did a finishing path. So, to do this right, I would have needed to use the V-Carve tool path along with a clearance endmill and selec...

Vcarving jagged on each depth pass

Hi! I’m not sure if this is a software issue, tool setting issue, or machine issue. As I’m vcarving, I’m noticing that each depth pass, is leaving lines. I’d like to think that the angle of the overall cut would be determined by the depth of cut and angle of the v bit so that it keeps that smooth tr...

Re: Loosing depth on cuts

Yes, I’ve plenty of room left to move the spindle down. that’s what I’d did that worked. Beginner mistake. :D I was so close (1/4”) from cutting through, I just couldn’t imagine that was the issue. But, I knew it had to be something simple that I was overlooking. Lesson learned and only cost me a li...

Re: Loosing depth on cuts

Ok... I figured it out. Of course it would be user error. Lol. I can admit it. So, my issue... the height of my router. At the z axis lowest point, I was 1/4” shy from the bottom of the material. That would explain why the 1/4” pocket cut was fine. Then in the profile cut, it would hit the bottom an...

Re: Loosing depth on cuts

Yep. That’s the post processor I’m using. The gantry is set to the lowest one which is exactly how they show it in the assembly book. I did talk to them today. Changing the model number of the pendant to 4003 worked for a couple people. Not me overall though. Here’s what I’m noticing. On this partic...

Re: Shark HD5 play in the X axis

I was able to tighten that one Allen screw up and alleviate the play, which I’m hoping works for a short term solution. Looking at how close that collar is to the side of the gantry, it doesn’t look like the bigger screws will fit.

Re: Loosing depth on cuts

Hi, I tried another cut using a file I got from the Next Wave forum. It's the pendent stand plans that are set up for half inch mdf which is pretty flat. It's loosing 1/4" depth consistently throughout, so it's cutting only halfway through & I believe it to be very flat. When zeroing the Z, I even w...

Re: Loosing depth on cuts

Thanks for the reply Tonydude. I do plan on getting one in the near future.
For now, I have tried resurfacing the board before any other cuts. I’m about to try some different project to see if there is a consistency there.

Re: Shark HD5 play in the X axis

You need these set screws from https://www.nextwaveautomation.com/shop/COUPLER-BOLTS-p114869817 Tony Thanks Tonydude! Kind of disheartened that they did not catch something like that before shipping it to me  But I understand things like that can happen. It seems like an easy fix. Pretty sure...
