Re: Spam bots are out of hand -- FIXED

Thanks so much for doing this, glad you got permission. I haven’t been on here in a while since the last time I looked it seemed abandoned to me. There is a wealth of information in the posts here, glad its being maintained properly now.

I love how the pattern of the grain reflects on the carving. Very neat!
Total luck on that, although I could see the spalt along the left side after roughing.

Re: Geometric Owl

Ah, but it is only partially V-carved. All the segments are 3-D components created in Aspire. The V-carve is only between the segments with a 60°Vbit.

Geometric Owl

My daughter showed me some animal drawings in a geometric style. She had an owl’s head. I completed the body and made a carving out of it in Aspire.

This is carved in an apple tree log section.

Created the 3D model, then figured how to cut it without a rotary since I don’t have one.

Burl Bowl

This was the forum that got me hooked on CNC carving, so I keep posting here and hope some of you will also. I bought this chunk of Cherry burl at a sawmill this fall, not knowing really what to do with it, but I’ve spent $10 on other things in that category so what the heck. Finally decided to make...
