Re: Gcode Issue...I think
Just double checking I am doing this right. Editing the Next Wave inch PP file in note pad I added "G64 P0.005" just below the "G90"... +--------------------------------------------------- + Commands output at the start of the file +--------------------------------------------------- begin HEADER "(...

Re: Gcode Issue...I think
Thanks Rando! I think you hit the nail on the head. To test your hypothesis I took an old shark PP from many years ago that I edited to cut clock gears (I vaguely remember reading a post online that walked me through the process of tightening up the tolerances). While it is not metric and it is very...

Gcode Issue...I think
I am experiencing random rounding over of corners. I am using Aspire 10.512 with the latest postprocessor (this is a metric project so I am using the metric PP...but I tried it with inches and it did the same thing) I am trying to create a dovetail project. For a machine I have an a CnC Shark Pro Pl...

Re: Replacement parts
Over the years I have replaced a few parts on my shark cnc. Nextwave has all the parts and I have found it easy to make any needed repairs. In my case it is usually the router that goes rather than the Shark. My original Shark I probably went through five Colt routers and now on the Shark Pro I am o...

Re: CNC and clock building
Here is a brief set of instructions regarding how I make my weights. The nice thing about the weight portion is just about anything works. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cjk6i74sa21ip4x/Wood%20Weights.pdf?dl=0 Hopefully the link works... If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask (it might t...

Re: CNC and clock building
Thank you. I am not sure how many hours that I have in it. This is the first version of this clock that I have made so it took longer then it should. Now that I have everything setup I could probably make one in somewhere around 20 hours. The five minute marks are pockets that I filled with powdered...

Re: CNC and clock building
It's great to see all the clocks and processes used by different folks. I'm pretty bad about keeping up with internet forms / documenting how I go about building (frankly it makes me appreciate those of you that do share all the more). Here is a picture of a modified Toucan that I just completed usi...

Re: Has anyone ever used thier Shark to create. ..
My experience is the amount of material used to make the inlay is really small and as such has very little effect on the balance point. The depth of cut is set to bottom out at .03 (about 1/32 of an inch). Also the inlay is actually part of the pendulum which will have adjustable weights that will n...

Add the other metal (in this case Aluminium) and soak in CA. Make sure you have a fan blowing the ca fums away from you... Sand the CA and extra material away and you are good to go. Andy

Re: Has anyone ever used thier Shark to create. ..
I will gladly share what I can. Here is the clock as it currently sits. All the gears are cut and I spent a good part of yesterday polishing shafts. Right now they all turn freely with the lightest of touches. IMG_0117.JPG Today I have been working on the pendulum arms (mostly the inlay for the arms...
