Re: routers

I've been using the 1617 for several years now. I typically get 2000 - 3000 hours before I decide to replace the bearings on one. Can't speak to the other brands. They may perform as well or better, but these have worked for me. As others have pointed out, having 2 in the shop results over time.

Re: Custom Made Shark Cribbage Board

That's really nice Larry. So, did you finish this, then paint the lettering and sand away - or what? Always interested to learn how folks do it 'their way'.

The SCP 2.0 - which is the control panel version that support virtual - 'works' with the extended bed just fine.

Re: bits

Hi, If I understand your question - many 'straight bits' (I'm thinking they might also be called edge bits) are primarily designed to cut along the edge of material. The cut on the 'bottom' of the bit may not be as smooth as needed for example for a cnc pocket toolpath operation. End mills are desig...

Re: Question about Preference Updates

Hi Folks,

The last time I ran this, after making a preference change, I saw that they 'stuck' - but only after performing another tap off set of steps (front and back).

Let me know if you're not seeing that - and if you're not, look in the release notes and tell me what number you see in brackets.

Re: Can we get a sub-forum dedicated to 4th Axis / Indexer?

Unfortunately renaming the beta forum and exposing it to all is confusing at best, and will provide contradictory information at worst. This forum was mostly unused toward the latter part of devleopment - and many/all of the posts have no real bearing on the fielded by NWA (but not yet sold by Rockl...

Re: Rounding stock - first hurdle

Hi Nick, A couple of comments. First of all, someone at Rockler just decided to expose the 4th axis beta testing forum and renamed it instead of creating a new one - like that would be useful. I can tell you that there is nothing useful in this forum other than posts made since it was exposed. In fa...
