Re: chinese checkers

If you check the post right below this one, I created a Chinese Checker Board for WoodWorker's Journal.
You can watch the video and there are links to .dxf, .tap and .crv files.

Re: stroke

A couple of thoughts: My oldest daughter has Cerebral Palsy. She is cognitively 100% thank God, but she does have walking issues and fine motor control issues, so typing is a chore for her. She has been using Dragon Dictate for 10 or more years to type for her. In the beginning it took some time to ...

Re: Where to find discontinued bits

Not sure if the shanks are special or not, but Amana now sells these "pencil point" bits as does a company called "think & tinker". They come in various sizes, obviously the smaller the ball end, the better the possible carving detail but also longer program runs.

Re: Different run times Shark Pro vs Shark Pro Plus HD

It am be a matter of semantics, but if the HD has a "top speed" of 200 ipm, and the Shark's is 150, then the HD is "Faster" by any normal definition. A Corvette is faster than my old MGB was in most cases, but on the twisty back country roads I grew up on, my MG would leave Corvettes in the dust. Al...

Re: Different run times Shark Pro vs Shark Pro Plus HD

Tim, So you ARE doing production which means time IS a factor. Good to know.' The Shark and the Shark HD should probably not be run using the same programs. Again, I apologize if I have the models mixed up, I'm not an expert on the differences, but my machine is a Shark Pro (I think). It has the Col...

Re: Different run times Shark Pro vs Shark Pro Plus HD

Are the two machines connected to two computers? Not to disagree with rungemach, but the rapid rate being different could indeed make a big difference depending on the program. So could a difference in the rapid height. I just finished programming a new project for WWJ, it should be out today. A LOT...

Re: Different run times Shark Pro vs Shark Pro Plus HD

You SHOULD be able to run both machines using exactly the same .tap file, and I'll bet you the run times are different. The one part you DO NOT typically control is the rapid movement rate of the machine, and in general you cannot control the acceleration/deceleration rates, cornering rates and the ...

Re: Using the Scan Probe

Here is the manual for the Shark Probe: http://nextwaveautomation.com/Downloads ... Manual.pdf

You want to set your Z height in the program slightly higher than the actual part height, and zero the Z axis slightly above the highest point on the part.
