Re: Power failure during a CNC job

Even worst is running a 6 hour program and with a half hour left the hydro flickers off for a half a second but the laptop running my machine keeps going. When the power comes back on the router started up and continued from where it stopped and ruined the piece. This has happened twice in the last ...

Re: QUESTION ABOUT AMANA BITS

I have the 1/4" shaft set and find it is so long that it vibrates and I am using the precision collets. If your router lets you use 1/2" shanks that is what I would buy. Pete

Re: Bits and bit life...

I usually pick up my end mills from e-bay. 1/4" I usually pay 7-8 dollars a peice and fet about 50 hours from then. When they are dull you can usually get them resharpened cheaply or pitch them. After resharpening the smaller diameter can be put into the end mill library. Myself I mainly use them fo...

photo's to vectors

Does anyone have any software that can take a photo and draw it as vectors that cut 3d can use? Looking at photos of motorbikes and cars and want to convert the photos to vectors for carving and also editing out vectors that are not needed. Thanks in advance. Pete

Re: Cutting Natural Stone

precisebits.com has 1/8 collets and nuts. They are not cheap but well worth the money as runout is virtually eliminated. Pete
