Re: x & y axis

Thanks Joe - That is an interesting prospect. I would love to build another one and use the old rails, if I were to upgrade to the longer table. I'll probably wait until I have had this one a little bit longer though. :D Cheers Peter.

Re: x & y axis

Nice - switched my axis tonight. No problem worked a treat. I'm not sure why they wouldn't want it that way in the first place. I guess it's all perspective. Once I switched it I could see why it was the other way! LOL Oh well it's all better now. Thanks for the tips everyone.

Cheers Peter.

Re: x & y axis

Thanks Joe - I was kind of half hoping that one was right because then I would be able to switch the cables and have it work correctly with out undoing all those Torx fasteners again!

Thanks again.

Cheers Peter.

Re: x & y axis

jeb2cav - I took a look at those diagrams and I think my current setup is almost like your first diagram, but the Y axis is reversed. The -y is to the right, and the +y to the left. I'm pretty sure about that, but the X is the same as what you have in your first diagram. I think your first diagram w...

x & y axis

Is there any problem with switching the x & y axis inputs into the control box? I can't imagine there would be but just thought I'd ask, as I am away from the CNC and will probably give it a try tonight. I don't like having it oriented as it is currently. It seems like it is rotated to be portrait, ...

dust boot - how to fasten vacuum line?

I purchased the dust boot for the Shark Pro Plus HD and have installed it. I was just wondering how other people have fastened there dust collection hoses to this boot? There are holes in the shoe that sticks out but looks like there is a metal plate, I guess it is metal for the magnetic attachment....

Re: very fine machining?? 0.023" precise bits?

Thanks for the tip John, that is great. I would like to try my hand at cutting some MOP for my headstock, and possibly some fretboard inlays anyway. I'll probably be purchasing one of the kits with all the different sized collets, and a few bits to try out. Thanks again.

Regards Peter.

very fine machining?? 0.023" precise bits?

Is there anyone here using the precise bits and collets to use really fine bits? I just bought a Shark Pro Plus HD with a Bosch 1617. It will be mainly for signs, and lithos maybe, thanks Tony, but I would like to try and machine some guitar parts. I was hoping to try machining rosewood and maple fr...
