Re: My fourth time cutting wood..
100 ipm is fine-I have went up to 150- use 125 most of the time- made a difference on my carve if going with the grain or across- found out hard way- if going with the grain I had less clean up sanding and if carve has a lot of flat area in it (like the foaming beer mug) the carve goes faster on the...

Re: My forth time cutting wood..
Did you use a larger end mill and the roughing pass before the finishing path? Thus will get the larger areas cleared out faster and only leave a small amount of material for the taper ball nose bit to remove. The chattering on the edges is normal- the tapper bit is just touching the straight edge o...

I literally went thru step by step of 2 different peoples instructions and spent over 10 hrs over 2 days trying to get a good tool path for my first one! After seeing a homemade video by ...

Re: Scan Probe with CNC Shark HD 4
Can't help you here. But I was very close to ordering scan probe when I got my slime line hd3. PASSED as I could not see much info or reviews on it. I was hoping to still get one BUT sounds like I need to wait longer yet. It would be a great asset to go with the machine with great potential....... H...

Re: Virtual zero Fault with Tiling
I had something similar happen when first starting out. Was using center for x y. But after few carves and wanting to use vertical zero and not having any original center material to locate the pad I went o ALWAYS using start position of bottom left corner for x y zero. The one thing I also stopped ...

Re: Long Sign How-to
yes as said above tilling tool path. Try to size you tiles so you have a no carve area for the break and if not possible us the overlap option. I use straight edge board with double sided tape and a clamp if possible to mark the tile size with masking tape and a line to slide the board down to the 2...

Re: cutting steel
The router will never be able to go at a slow enough rpm -even with the correct bit. Milling machines are geared for slow rpm's and have lots of torque to be able do steel.
