Re: Initial Setup/Little Knowledge
Sure enough. You've got VCarve Pro 11.014 (congrats!) and I'm still using 8.5. Maybe someday I'll uprade, but it's been doing what I want for my current use. Meanwhile, I can't open your file, but I'd be happy to help you out if you post the requested screenshots.

Re: Initial Setup/Little Knowledge
Thanks for posting the project file. I don't have VCarve installed on this PC, so I can't open it up from here. If I remember when I get home, I'll give it a try, but it will only work if you're also using the old version of VCarve that I'm using. The more reliable approach is probably to post the s...

Re: Initial Setup/Little Knowledge
You've attached your gcode file (the .tap file), not the project file (.crv file). Looking at it, I see it only contains what you've described: Two round holes that are 5/8" deep. There's nothing more. I can see that the only toolpath in the gcode file is "Pocket 3" from your original project. I'm g...

Cool idea.
I don't have a spindle nor the static problem, but I always appreciate seeing new ideas like this.

Spam moderation FAQ
I've received several questions about this for different individuals, so I thought I'd clear up some confusion. Q: Who are the moderators? A: Bob and I have been made moderators on the forum. This is a super helpful step by Rockler because it allows us to delete spam posts that had been piling up pr...

Re: Middle school teacher - I need an easy way for kids to make images
Image files like bmp aren't a straight conversion. You'll need to manually address each file a student turns in and not all will convert well. I'd recommend you have them install InkScape on their devices and save the results as .svg files. InkScape runs on PC, Mac, and Chromebook. And it's free, so...

Re: Missing Random Letters when using Laser
Unfortunately, I couldn't open the project file because your version of VCarve (11) is much newer than mine (8.5 -- has it really been that long?). The .tap file you uploaded looks great, though. Four copies of your logo and all the letters of each "UNIVERSITY" are present. I assume you have a way o...

Re: Missing Random Letters when using Laser
Very strange!
If that zip contains the vcarve file, I'll open it up when I get to my home PC this evening and take a look.

Re: Missing Random Letters when using Laser
The image you tried to post didn't show up. If you could post pictures of what happened, we could hazard a guess. If you post the .tap file and the project file, we could figure out exactly what happened. Without that, all I can do is conjecture that you had a problem in your project file. Maybe som...
