Re: My Home location Keeps changing Shark 520 with V-Carve
I've had that happen, too. When the machine tries to go beyond its work envelope, it physically hits against the end and the controller believes the router has continued to move when, in reality, the machine was obviously stuck there. All subsequent moves are offset by that amount and your workpiece...

Re: SHARK-SD100
I have the same model Bob does, except mine is black.
The only real difference between ours and the one you're looking at is the bed size. That's the main difference in all the Shark models, actually.

Beautiful. I would never have guessed baltic ply was used by looking at it. Automotive filler and paint? I'll have to try that.

Re: Touch plate holder!
I always love combining fabrications from different machines (CNC, laser cutter, 3d printer). It's amazing what you can build at home these days.
Great application for this. Nice silver color, too.

Re: Other Lasers
I was looking for a 10-20 watt. Want to cut 1/inch wood and some metals. looking to engrave glass too. I'm hoping "1/ inch wood" really means "1/4 inch wood", otherwise you're going to be sorely disappointed with most any laser you'll buy. You'll need a >40W laser to effectively cut through 1/4" wo...

A very small angle variance would have been my first guess. I'm not sure what it would be, otherwise.

Re: Spam bots are out of hand -- FIXED
I haven't done any account moderation whatsoever. Simply deleting spam posts. I'm on here almost daily, so I'm able to clean the spam posts as they appear. I'm not familiar with the FB page -- I'm never on FB. If you want to let people know that this forum is available, that'd be great. The forum wa...

Very nice!
Can you share a bit about your process? What sort of wood do you use? And what sort of finish?

Re: Spam bots are out of hand
Great news! The Power That Be have bestowed admin access on two forum regulars, Bob and myself. I've been going through and cleaning out the spam posts. You'll have to look elsewhere for advice on where to buy Goose Sneakers (whatever those are). If you see a spam post, hit the exclamation mark at t...

Re: Why won't the 2w laser won't mark paper?
Have you tried it on dark-colored paper? And does it still work on wood?
I'm wondering if the white paper is reflecting too much of the energy. Then I'm wondering if the entire laser is putting out less energy altogether.
