Re: Happy New Year
Happy New Year to one and all. All I have to report so far is my Mako is set up. I have made several attempts at a project and have failed so far. I am determined to show something on the forum, so keep posting all of the neat tips and info you care to share. So far, that elusive light bulb hasn't g...

Re: Mako Review
Like the rest of you, I purchased a Mako. I have not used a CNC before, as this is my first endeavor at using one. To say I was disappointed by the lack of assembly instructions is an understatement. I did not know which direction the gantry should face. In fact, I didn't even know the gantry was ca...

Re: Eagle plaque
Nice work.
Well, the UPS guy just delivered the Mako, so I am sure I will feel inadequate for a while.
I appreciate all who freely share their experience.

Re: Roll Tide
Is it appropriate to ask you to share the file or program in order for me to make one of these Alabama logos? The Mako is ordered, so I hope to be creating memories soon.
Thanks,
Joe

Bits and Tools to Get Started
Very nice indeed.
Ok, once again I am seeking advice from anyone willing to help me get started. I ordered the Mako, now I need to know which bits and or other tools to get me started.
Once again, thanks for any help.

Re: First Acrylic Carvings
Hi Joe,
I have just ordered a new Mako. I am a newbie to all of this and would like to know which bits in particular did you order. Size or part number, anything would help me tremendously.
Thank you,
Joe

Re: More carvings
Guy's thanks again for your posts. I am confused about the differences between the HD and the Mako. Any help on this?
Also, would you mind suggesting what I need to order with my initial order such as bits, etc.

Re: More carvings
Thanks for your reply. I am looking at the Mako system, not that I know much about it. It does seem to be the unit with perhaps the latest software and hardware updates etc. Do you have any thoughts on each of the CNC units that may help me be better informed? I really like your work. If I can do so...

Re: Boxes
I have been looking at purchasing a CNC after admiring all of your projects. I have no woodworking experience at all. Is this something I could learn to do or should I not invest in the equipment?

Re: More carvings
I have been wanting to purchase a CNC for weeks now since I have been looking at all of your projects. I have no woodworking experience at all, but I am creative. Would this be something I could learn or should I forget about making this investment?
Thanks for any input.
