Re: Received Software on Disc. Computer has not disc drive

It is unfortunate about the optical disk, but office supply places will convert for you also (for a small fee). Staples, Office Depot... Try schools, like High schools or local trade collages. If you go to coffee stores where folks are sitting around drinking coffee looking at their laptops, just ma...

Re: spoiler board?

Great to hear that you young folks are interested in CNC machining. These sharks can do mild metals and most plastics. Spoil boards are as customizable as the need. Yes, with wood or plastic, most spoil boards are MDF or old very cheap plywood. Much of the design of your spoil board depends on the s...

Re: Lettering Problem - Help needed

pj26, I've had similar experiences where square corners get rounded. What I did to fix my problem was to set the speed of my cut in the tool section slower, like half the speed. It has to do with centrifugal forces and what not. I think the machine does the rounding. That is why you don't see it on ...

Re: No Power to Control Box

To protect yourself from any future fuse failures, you can install a simple relay. Just search this forum for 'RELAY' and you will find it mentioned a bunch of times. Here is one viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5026&p=28339&hilit=relay#p28339 With a relay, you can turn all sorts of things with the controller. M...

Re: Is It Just Me

I decided on the Shark because of all of the post and interest on this forum. None of the other brands had active forums at that time. When you are buying something new for the first time, you want a source of accurate information to help you over learning curve and any unforeseen issues. How much r...

Is It Just Me

Is it just me or are there less and less posting on this forum? Looking at the number of post the last month from today, shows 31 posts and of them 8 were selling jammers or metal detectors (not CNC stuff). That leaves 24 CNC related posts in the past 30 days. I remember when there were 15 to 20 pos...

Re: Butt Impression Please

With nothing that I could find to go on, I started to draw something symmetric. I'm still looking for suggestions here. Figuring something like 24" wide, 20" deep on a 2" thick board but only cutting 1" deep, this is what I came up with. Interesting enough, I figure I'll have to carve it and try it ...

Sharpen Your Own Router Bits

While looking through Youtube about things I find interesting, I ran across this about sharpening router bits. The better router bits are expensive and they get dull also. After watching this video, I purchased some of the stuff recommended and it works!! There may be other ways of doing this but fo...
