Re: 4th Axis usefulness?
Ed. I raised both the headstock and tail stock a half inch by attaching them to an aluminum base. This allows cutting up to 4 inches in diameter. I have done several pencil cups and bowls with 3d designs and various carvings, and text, around the outside. Most of the pencil cups were hollowed out wi...

Re: Windows 10
I loaded Windows 10 and tried it with both Aspire 8 and with Shark CP 2.1
It worked just fine on two projects I ran. I could tell no difference between Win 7 and Win 10 with either program other than both loaded faster with Win 10.

Re: Control software not seeing 4th axis
Great to hear that your system is working. Best of luck and good carving to you. I checked my a-axis. Without it being enabled, the stepper for the a-axis still gets warm to the touch. Of course, I cannot jog or carve until it is enabled. So, power is transmitted to the stepper, but communication is...

Re: Control software not seeing 4th axis
I only have one more idea....check to make sure you are clicking the icon for version 2.1. The program adds a new icon for version 2.1 but does not remove older version icons, and it is very easy to click on the wrong one.

Re: Control software not seeing 4th axis
You should be able to download by clicking on check for updates under the help menu--that is if you have an
internet connection while also connected to your control panel.

Re: Control software not seeing 4th axis
There is a newer release--Version 2.1 release 16. It has most known bugs fixed, as I understand it. I just checked my control panel, and when I turn it on, there is a checkbox near the bottom left of the screen to enable virtual, and to the immediate right, a checkbox to enable the a axis. Once I en...

Re: Question about Preference Updates
When I make changes in preferences I must exit the program and restart before the changes take effect. Joe at KB Farms was one of the beta testers, and he says it is not necessary, but any changes I make will not work until I exit/restart. On another note, I am very pleased with how the machine works

Rock solid now
Decided to beef up the mounting system for my new toy. I had to raise the gantry to clear the headstock, and took it up one notch, or about an inch. I mounted the headstock and tail stock on half inch flat aluminum. This gives me an extra Inch of diameter, and it really beefs up the stability. It is...
