Re: Joining vectors

While there are many ways to do just about everything, I find myself returning to the scissors trim tool repeatedly. It's a good one to become acquainted with.

Re: CNC and clock building

If by motor you mean an inexpensive analog clock interior, you'll need the hands to be balanced and light. Those movement mechanisms are not true motors and are extremely weak, which they make up for by being energy efficient and cheap.

Re: how to join vectors

Does it do that with every file or just one? If it's just one, would you mind uploading it? (Or, possibly deleting almost everything from the project and then uploading it.)

Re: Laptop question

Our refurb with USB 1.1 works fine as a controlles PC also. I'm curious if the <$100 Fry's laptops would work as a cheap replacement.

Can you recommend a tutorial to start with? I'm curious about using it over VCarve, but I don't want to invest several hours before havin...

Re: jog bit using usb keypad

Bill, if you're using the 10-key I'm thinking of, what happens if you toggle Num Lock and use the 1 & 7 keys (home and end) to change among fast/med/slow?

Re: Any thoughts on CNC Shark HD4

Thanks for the picture. I haven't had any problems with my existing clamp (except that I didn't have it secured tightly enough until a few months ago), but I'll plan on ordering an aluminum one if mine ever breaks. It looks very nice. Bill, I didn't realize you'd had your machine about the same time...
