Re: VCarve Pro 6.5, anyone?
People can give you opinions, but the bottom line is only you can decide whether the upgrade is useful to you and what you do with the software. Here are a few thoughts that may help: First, figure out exactly what V6.5 will give you. Start with this What's New PDF and notice it is arranged in two s...

Re: 24 inch x 24 inch test piece
made NO difference in quality or accuracy of the cut, none at all. Sorry, I should have been clearer. There is no connection between my suggestion and the results you are seeing and I didn't intend to imply that there was. My advice to anyone is to avoid using the Quick Engraving Toolpath unless yo...

Re: 24 inch x 24 inch test piece
The Quick Engraving toolpath is primarily intended for non-rotating drag type tools. For what you are doing here, try the Profile Toolpath with the On option selected and Cut Depth set to your 0.05". This will keep the point of your v-bit (or center of any bit) right on the vector. Also notice how t...

Re: Videos.....wow, not much help.
Origin Offset is intended to help with project setups on a machine that has an absolute X0, Y0 location and you want to machine a project somewhere else on the machine bed. While it will work for this purpose, many may find it easier to use the Home Position Settings in the Material Setup form on th...

Re: Starting and Stoping Middle of G Code
Dave, First, it may have changed but the last I knew Cut3D did not support Tape Splitting and would give an error if you tried to use a post processor with the command inserted. If this is still the case, you may be able to import the Cut3D toolpaths into VCP and save the toopaths using a VCP post p...

Hi Dave,
A 45 hour finish pass is very impressive, but have you gone through the steps to adjust the time estimates for your machine?
If not, this Vectric FAQ may help you:

Re: Cutting Correct Diameter Circles
Hi Dale, I always use a Profile-Outside toolpath when the outside dimension is the critical one. That is what I would recommend here. However, in this case you would need to toolpath each circle by itself, then save the individual toolpaths into one saved toolpath at the end. When you select multipl...

Re: What is going on with my machine?
I belive I know what the problems is and I belive it is a problem in Aspire. David, This is NOT a problem with Aspire or VCarve Pro. The V-carve toolpath needs well defined closed vector shapes and when it is given poorly defined or overlapping shapes, it does the best it can to figure out what is ...

Re: X0 Y0 Z0 HOME
And the reason z0 is something other than 0 is to minimize running into a clamp or something while returning to the home position. Actually it is the setting for Clearance (Z1) (also called the Safe Z) that determines the height above Z-zero that the bit will be at during transits across the bed, w...

Re: Missing Tabs
I closed them with the Join open vectors tool. Each one actually consists of two separate vectors - a 'U' shaped bottom and an semi-circular cap. Be sure you have both highlighted. If you just make your 3rd layer visible and active (I can't recall the layer name), only those vectors will be visible ...
