Re: HD5 or HD4

I purchased a Shark Pro Plus back in 2009. Since that time, I have added the touch plate. The controller box failed about 2 years ago and would no longer connect to the CNC. The support from NextWaveCNC has been excellent in my opinion. I ended up getting the HD4 controller and pendant to get things...

Re: Rotary Indexer

This has merit for little things -- and could be good for pen making. The bulk of the add-on is a one of the small mini-lathes (ex Jet 1014) along with a stepper motor to rotate the work piece on its axis. This could be a bit pricey. Any idea of the projected price range for the upgrade to a Shark P...

Re: Training Class

Only one or two? I have a dozen...

The Shark Pro Plus appears to be a great machine for us hobbyists. I am quite computer literate as that is 80% of my day job, but CNC is new to me.

I have learned a great deal from the forum, but there is still a great deal to learn.

Micro SD Chip Specs

Nothing is mentioned in the controller documentation as to the requirements/limitations for the micro SD chip that lives there. The chip in my controller is a 1Gb SanDisk, but no other specs can be determined. I have seen several posts about problems with 4Gb and 8Gb chips and the fact that 2Gb work...

Re: Shark Pro Plus Damage and Setup Question

Thanks for the encouragement. The photos of the ProPlus on the website show the six screws with the heads facing out. The holes on the gantry are drilled from the inside. The six holes in each side of the gantry do not go completely through the side. With a depth gauge, the holes are only 5/8" deep....

Shark Pro Plus Damage and Setup Question

I received my Shark Pro Plus this week, but today was the first opportunity to get the boxes open. Certainly, this is an impressive machine. I noticed that the aluminum pieces that make up the table were not in alignment. On further inspection, I noticed that one of the aluminum table pieces was loo...

Re: Router Auto On/ Off

I saw that as a line item in the feature list. Give me a couple of weeks for my ProPlus to arrive.

Lots of good information here. I am totally a nooby -- barely can spell CNC. Looking forward to delivery of my Shark Pro Plus.

Re: SHARK PRO + memory card

Normally the faster cards ... Like the SDHC will work. I have encountered issues with some older cameras that could not read more than a 128MB card. I am really new to this CNC Shark stuff, but hope to get better now that I have one on order. I would normally expect that the owner's manual would ide...

Re: SHARK PRO + memory card

I am a nooby to CNC, but memory cards come in various speeds. The cheap ones are ok for backup and the like. If you are doing hi-res photographs with a high end camera -- or video -- especially HD, the chip must be faster. My camera does not do well with the cheap cards -- in fact the manual says th...
