Shark Basic Panel feature suggestions.

Post by saramos »

Hi,

This post is directed to Next Wave and the author of the Shark Basic Panel.

I'm a new Shark owner and have cut just a handfull of projects so far. Already, I am wishing there were a few more features to the panel. The feature I would like to see the most would be a series of buttons to move an axis a specific distance. For example, + and - 1.0", 0.1", 0.01", and 0.001" buttons for each axis. This would allow for much faster and accurate setting of the shark's position. Also, it would be really cool if there was a secondary "tool change" location in addition to the 0,0,0 home position.

If anyone else would like to add their ideas, please do. Perhaps we can persuade Next Wave into adding them to a future version of their software.

I like your suggestions.
I'd also like to see:
Finer adjustment of jog speed.
Z axis jogging using keyboard.
Jogging from keyboard even when the jog tab is not active.
Ability to control this app from any form of automation interface. For example, a VB script, python script, etc.

Z Axis is PageUp and PGDown on the keyboard.
