Shark 60th Help/Suggestions

Hello all,

I am very very new to CNC and thinking of making the leap to adding the shark 60th to my shop.

Before I do, I thought I would ask the help and guidance of those that have used a CNC machine and more importantly a Shark.

What I plan to do with it. small projects out of wood, cut wood pieces, signs.

Those are the first things I would be attempting to do with a new shark.

Now with that said.

Does the rockler cnc stand work with the 60th edition?
Aside from the router and computer, what else would be upgrade options, what might I need right away?
Bits, anything else that I probably don't know is out there that you think might help me get started.

Computer wise, I have that covered since I am a network admin and have more machines that I know what to do with.
So installing the software and setting up the PC, I should be ok.

How about pre made files, where can I find/purchase those?
Help, where is the best place for help?
What types of woods, work best?

Anything you experts can help me with I appreciate it.

Thank you
Wayne

What I make now, is doll furniture designed for 18-20 inch dolls.
I want to expand on that. plus add signs, custom cut outs etc.

I purchased the 60th a few months ago along with the stand. The stand is very heavy duty and fits the machine well.

Good luck

Tony

Thanks for the links and advise.

I made the purchase - 60th edition should be here in 2-3 weeks.
As for the other post, thank you also, I purchased the stand and the quick chuck and Colette reducer also.

I just moved from So. Cal to Carlsbad NM.

What about bits to get me started? Suggestions
I want cutting out of parts - (wood)
And sign making / engraving (wood)

I will start out in wood for now.

Anybody live around south eastern NM, El Paso, Midland area that knows a good place to buy rough cut lumber or wholesale wood?

Thanks for all your help.
