I've never cut it on the shark. I used to have a vinyl plotter for cutting.

To get the vinyl any sign supply place will sell to you. There are several online.

I have vinyl cutters and get most of my supplies from http://www.uscutter.com/ they have a flat $10 shipping fee.
If you just want to test on vinyl many retail outlets sell 'cricut' supplies (or equivalent) or just get a roll of vinyl shelf liner from the dollar store.

I would not use this tool for that purpose... research is advised... vinyl cutters are cheaper than cnc and widely available.

@rocky53204 what kind of vinyl cutters are you using?

Sorry for being off topic.

I'm looking for a vinyl cutter get some gigs done. Any recommendations?

In the past few weeks I've been searching the net for the best solution and no luck
so far. I've read way too much hype and not enough good info.

I've found this blog. This machine review looked quite decent.
The only issue I've found was that it seemed too honest. I was thinking about the Rolland. It's interesting that how much old technology is sticking around.

Any pointers will be highly appreciated

Old thread :)

I've played around with cutting vinyl on the Shark. Very successfully, too. Here's a write-up with pictures:

I would buy a Shark just for vinyl (a vinyl plotted is much cheaper than a CNC machine), but if you already have a CNC machine... well, everything's a nail when you have a hammer.
