My mistake. I was looking at his second post (after messing with cables).

I agree. I just leave Y as the long axis and rotate my jobs to fit.

The Two Major Reasons not to mess with the machine is

1.) machine may be in warranty and messing around with it may VOID said warranty.
2.) it could very well cause more problems than it could solve

You'll note that was my first suggestion as the first reply from 8 months ago.
