One of the projects I'm working on is to drill 100 1/4" holes in a 24"X24" hard wood board. In the past, I only needed to drill one or 2 holes so I used an end mill, but, that is pretty hard on an end mill and with 100 holes, I fear it would be destructive to an end mill bit.
Some of you make cribbage boards, what do you use to bore all of those holes?
If end mill is the only solution, then, I could use a suggestion as to how to set plunge and ramp speeds.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: What is the Best Bit for Drilling?
I also use an end mill. It's a safer solution than a drill bit at these speeds.
If you're worried about wearing out your end mill (a valid concern), grab some cheap chinese end mills. They usually come in 1/8" and 6mm.

If I use this sort of bit, I have to figure a deeper Z depth to have an even hole all of the way through (to accommodate the 90° point)?WNC_Ed wrote:This might be a good solution: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-2500-CARBI ... SwJ7dbErqx
