Food Carrier

Post by BobA »

My wife has had a board sorta like this she uses for carrying casseroles, crock pots, etc. to family and church dinners. It is nice because you can carry food and it does not move around in the trunk. I took the idea and made something similar.

Eric,

The board is 3/4"x11-1/2"x 20". I designed the board to fit a piece of Baltic birch I had leftover from another project. I machined the hand grooves on both sides. I would be glad to post the VCarve file without the logo if you have interest.

Eric,

Here is the VCarve Program. I did not cut the outside profile on the cnc. I rounded the outside corners with my bandsaw. I cut the handles on the backside also. Total Cycle time is less than 38 minutes. I used 1/2" dowel stock for the pegs. Tools needed 1/4" endmill and 1/2" 90 degree V-bit.

Bob'A',

Great idea. Thank you for posting the file. Sometimes our food gets damaged during transportation, because of the way I drive. Just ask Julie.

I agree. Great idea. Heck a peg board like that would be great for any trunk or hatchback space where parcels are usually placed. I had t-track and a sliding bar (I made for the same reason) in the rear of my old Vibe but it was far from a perfect solution or quick to implement.

Great idea, not just for hot food but anything that should not roll around in the boot.
Cheers
