New Shark HD510 owner... pocketing problems
I am all over the place trying to figure this out. I did a 3D carve roughing with 1/4" end mill and 1/8" ball nose end mill that came out pretty decent. I go to pocketing and having nothing but problems. I am trying to pocket a 4x6" square (1/4" rounded corners for bit). The 1/4" bit is Amana tools from Toolstoday.
I am cutting a piece of 2" thick wormy maple and have the 2 HP water-cooled spindle. Anyone have any recommendations on RPM speed, chipload and maybe a good bit I should be using?
I have watched videos, tried to do some research, I just cannot fit all the pieces together. I end up with either scorching the wood or the bit jamming up.

I was all over the place. I just recently found the spindle can go up to 24000RPM.

I have VCarve Pro, so I can't open your file.
How about using the snipping tool to show toolpath settings you are using?
Also:
Burning= feed tool slow, speed too high, dull bit. cutting too deep per pass.
Jamming= feed too fast, speed too low, cutting too deep per pass.
Until you supply more toolpath information, the best I can do is guess. "all over the place", does not give specific information.

Sorry. "All over the place" was me just being frustrated trying things without thinking them through.
I was experiencing burn with lower RPM like you said. The highest I tried was what you see in the screenshots attached.
I found the amana tool data sheet saying I should be at 18000 RPM with a 0.006-0.008 chip load per tooth. I also found the 2HP water-cooled spindle max is 24000 RPM.

Pass depth looks good.
Your feed rate and plunge are faster than I use. (I use Feed 200 ipm. plunge 40 ipm) However, what works for me may not work for you.
I'm not sure if your machine can hit the feed you have listed.
If your bit has been burning the cut, it may be dull now.
I also adjust speed during a cut until I get chips, instead of fine dust. Chips carry heat away, while dust tends to keep heat at the cut.
The feed rate over-ride (fro) can also be used to increase or reduce the chips.
Until I felt comfortable with feeds and speeds, I used less expensive bits, and less important projects, and cheaper wood.
And, I still use shop-made wooden clamps...

Going to give 18000 RPM, 200 / 40 a try with a new bit.

Why is your endmill set st 320? The shark controller limits the feed rate to 200 ipm. Please email Tech Support at support@nextwaveautomation.com or call during regular business hours (419)491-4520

So it turns out the rotator was wired backwards and was spinning in reverse! Settings not using 18000 rpm and 180 inch per min and varying as I need from there.
