Screen protector

Post by TomTurner »

My grandkids have pushed the screen out of the door at our vacation home multiple times. Finally decided to make something to solve the problem. Took a 3/8 sheet of cherry and did a double sided Celtic weave on each end. Then added embossed pattern of a bear in a tree in the center. Did my first glazing attempt that came out fairly good. Added a walnut decorative frame around the bear. It and the screen door survived the first visit from the grandkids.

That's a really nice project, great way to dress up the door and protect the screen.

Thanks for posting.

Tom

It looks great. If It was for my grandson it would have to be about 1" thick. He is a 4 year old bull in a china shop sometimes.

Good job. Always nice to see one's projects displayed around your house for others to enjoy, without loading up every available shelf in the house.
Being retired is hard work. Spending way too much time in the shop these days. (And loving it).
