Geometric Owl

My daughter showed me some animal drawings in a geometric style. She had an owl’s head. I completed the body and made a carving out of it in Aspire.

This is carved in an apple tree log section.

It's like the design was MADE for V-bit. Cool!

Ah, but it is only partially V-carved. All the segments are 3-D components created in Aspire. The V-carve is only between the segments with a 60°Vbit.

I love how the pattern of the grain reflects on the carving. Very neat!

Total luck on that, although I could see the spalt along the left side after roughing.
