I need a new power supply for the controller. Does anyone know where I can get one or how to make one?

What you're looking for is an I.T.E. (Information Technology Equipment) Power Supply. The one that the shark uses is 24 VDC. Not sure how this would effect your warranty but here's one I found with a quick search: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-st ... PLY/1.html
