I just started with the ProPlus and hooked it up with a tiny netbook computer that I bought for $250. Takes no space, can be closed and does not have a fan to suck in and clog with dust. Works perfect except it lacks a numerical keypad for jogging. I will probably get a wireless keypad for better control.
I do the CAD/CAM work in my home office on a nice fast machine with big screen and when done I save the tap files directly in a shared folder of the machine netbook through the WiFi network. It forces me to take a 30 second walk between the shop and the office once a while but that is not a bad thing.

Re: new machine
Bits......... 90 60 30 15 V bits. Each will give you a different look and width/depth. 1/2, 1/4 end mills for cleaning and roughing.
1/16, /1/8 ball nose for 3D carving.
Check the sight for bit providers or check the Vectic sight for providers.
That is pretty much all you will need for the machine. Edging bits for finishing work to your taste. Happy saw dust.
