Controller not recognized

I am setting up my Shark Pro Plus that was purchased back in 2011 (or about that time). Downloaded the 1.6 software from the website. The installer cannot find the controller. When I unplug and plug in the usb cable, the appropriate USB sound occurs indicating that some USB device was disconnected/connected.

1. Am I using the wrong software?
2. If so, what is the right software for this older CNC?
3. If software is correct, what next? I see the yellow and red lights on the controller, but nothing else happens.

Any help would be appreciated.

1.6 software should work fine. The first thing I would try is replacing the USB cable. Many people have had problems with USB cables that *appear* to work fine, but cause problems.

Even if the cable works for other devices, try swapping it out anyway.

Thank You for the reply. It turns out that the driver for the controller was not on the PC. Once installed, the machine works....
