SHARK PRO + memory card

Post by rwind »

My memory card has failed after a week of running. Does anyone
know what speed and size it requires. It was a one gb card that
was in the controller box. I replaced it with a 2 gb card and if i
run the program on high speed the machine loses it zeros

I am a nooby to CNC, but memory cards come in various speeds. The cheap ones are ok for backup and the like. If you are doing hi-res photographs with a high end camera -- or video -- especially HD, the chip must be faster.

My camera does not do well with the cheap cards -- in fact the manual says that it requires a "Class 6".

When you run your CNC in fast mode, there is more data being moved from card to memory. A slow card would not be able to keep up.

That is the theory, the answer is probably in the manual.

The card that came out of mine was a 1 gb but think it was a sd talked to time and he said either one would work
but when i tried it the machine would not accept all the commands and would eventually shut off

Normally the faster cards ... Like the SDHC will work. I have encountered issues with some older cameras that could not read more than a 128MB card. I am really new to this CNC Shark stuff, but hope to get better now that I have one on order.

I would normally expect that the owner's manual would identify card type and if there is any limitation as to size.
