After seeing a number of wooden puzzles at a kiosk in our local mall, I thought I would try my hand in building a "simple wooden cross" puzzle. I used 3/4 inch stock to create this one, but it could be made at a number of different dimensions with modification. The puzzle consists of six pieces, each three inches long. I used a 1/8 inch end mill bit to cut out the pieces and the side cuts needed to be squared with a chisel or band saw in order for the pieces to fit snugly. After a little sanding and some wood wax, the pieces seem to fit fairly well.
You can search the internet for a solution to the puzzle using the search terms "simple wooden cross puzzle".
