I have a 520
I have the 3hp water cooled spindle
I just bought the 7w laser
Both the spindle controller and the laser controller connect to the machine controller through the same 20-pin connector port on the controller.
I've looked for a 20-pin y-cable (2 into 1), and none that I've seen has 20 pins, they are 19/20 (with the 20th 'hole' being 'not there')
I want to be able to plug BOTH into the controller, and turn the power off to the one I am not using (NEVER have both powered on!) so I don't have to continuously un-plug and plug in cables.

The controller HAS 20 pins, so that 20th hole being blocked won't plug in, thus rendering it useless.
Does anyone make an actual 20/20 pin splitter cable?
Has anyone else attempted to have it so both laser & spindle are plugged in at the same time?

Re: 20-pin cable connections
finally have an update for this.
I had an electrical engineer make a splitter cable for me. With both the spindle controller and laser controller plugged into it (and into the machine controller), the spindle controller is non-functional but the laser controller is. However, it does work as an extension cable so I can plug the spindle/laser controller into it instead of into the machine controller, and that was my biggest 'worry', possible bending a pin on the machine controller. so, problem 'fixed' if not the exact way I wanted.
it is an IDC 2.54mm pitch cable
