Re: Edit G-code-- tap file-- feed rate

First off Feed Rates are inches per minute or mm/minute if in metric. These are the F commands that control how fast the machine moves in G01. The value is not a % of anything. Open the program in any basic word processor such as Note Pad or Word Pad. Be sure to include the decimal in the value. So ...

Re: Circles aren't round anymore

It could be a few things. Couplings, worn screw, worn nut, loose nut, bearing starting to fail, stepper starting to fail. Basically anything that can allow back lash. If you have a dial indicator you can check for back lash pretty easy. Mount the indicator to the table and place the tip on the Y axi...

Re: new hard drive

Re: Edge Finding

You can edge find with the shark control. The problem is spindle RPMs being to fast for a spring loaded contact tip rated at 1200 RPM. As for the control, run the edge finder against the work piece and zero out that axis. Repeat and see if it kicks out at the same time. Then jog up in Z and move tow...

Re: New Member...Research

The shark is fun plain and simple. If all you want is to speed up the process then rough out the design with a bandsaw and finish cutting it to size on a table router with a pattern bit. I used to make 38-42 each year for a competition we hosted at the university machine shop. I jobbed out the text ...
