Re: Which software to use/buy with the 4th axis
If you bought the extended bed then you should get VCarve Pro with it not VCarve Desktop. Desktop is limited to 24x24 project area and is included with the standard bed Shark HD even though they say the cutting area of the Shark is 25x25. Also you can not do rotary projects with VCarve Desktop so yo...

Re: Shark HD4 bed - can you add to the bed?
Don't forget you need to re-build the bed also and that is an added expense. You can contact Next Wave and find out how much they would charge for everything to convert your machine into the extended bed version or source the parts yourself. It might just cost you about the same amount but doing it ...

Re: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
The software is Windows software.
I am not sure if it would run under a windows emulator on your Mac but if you have one you might try it and let others know what you find. I would not add the expense of an emulator if you don't already have one.

Re: Adding tool to Database
You can not add a bit to the Tool Data Base that contains undercut geometry like a dovetail bit. However you can use bits with this geometry if you start away from the part and exit away from the part but you may have to cut an access for the bit at the start and end point.

Re: Dumb question from a big dummy
It all started with the Shark 18x24 w/MDF bed that used the Bosch Colt trim router. Then came the Shark Pro 24x24 w/MDF bed at used the Bosch Colt trim router. Then the Shark Pro+ 24x24 w/aluminum bed that used the Bosch Colt trim router. Then the Shark Pro HD1 w/aluminum bed and able to handle the ...

Re: Auto-on/off dust collection
You need an auto switch like this one with the two different power plugs. The power plug on the switch for the tool goes into the outlet on the Shark control box, the plug of the router goes into the tool power outlet on the switch, the plug for the vac goes into the outlet on the switch marked vacu...

It is set up for more than just Piranha owners but the only people that I know of that were given the address were those that backed the Piranha Fx project on KickStarter. It has limited bandwidth or something so there are times that you can not get on the forum or can't go from page to page when yo...

Re: V-Carve Pro/Shark HD3 depth is off
You can't use a flat tip bit for a vcarve inlay. Preview your pocket cut and you will see that it looks like dogbone fillets at the points and this will not work at all.
Here is the link for a PDF for vcarve inlay procedures http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=7241

Re: V-Carve Pro/Shark HD3 depth is off
It can be confusing when adding tools to the data because they all follow different guidelines for configuration. Always check all the entries you make to a new tool to make sure they match the bit you are trying to add so the software uses the correct shape of the tool to calculate toolpaths. If yo...
