This may not be your issue but it did work for me. I use a light coating of penetrating oil on the Y axis bars and screw when my machine starts chattering. Same on the Z axis. Yes, thank you for the updates (both Nick and Tim). Being a woodturner before getting my Black Diamond, I've been anxiously awaiting this attachment and have been following these developments closely.

You shouldn't have to reset XY when changing bits, only Z. While the length of a bit can change, the center point won't.

After you've clicked the Save Preview Image button, in the dialog box that pops up, click the Save as Type box (under where you enter the file name) and you'll have options to save as other file types, including .jpg.
