Sugar Skull Trivet
Hello all, One of the small quick projects I completed was this sugar skull which my wife wants as a trivet. It is 5.5"x7.5" and made of 5/8" Poplar, stained with walnut stain. 1/2" 60d vbit, .624 max depth which almost cuts the eyes out, but leaves it thin enough to see light through them. Thanks f...

Re: Fall gate sign
Thanks! The leaves were a yellow base, and then just kind of went to town with layers of red, orange and brown with more yellow. It was fun to just spray with abandon and still have it turn out good.
Thanks again!

Fall gate sign
Hello all, Here's the latest off the Shark just in time for fall, down around these parts anyhow. 2 pieces of 1x12 pine with 2 tiled toolpaths (a first for me!), trimmed on the table saw and biscuited together. The .075mmR ball nose bit carved 5/8" thick Poplar Maple leaves took the longest of cours...

Re: Z AXIS DEPTH VARIATION
Static is indeed interesting. I was watching some sawdust dance on the gantry arm around my finger so there is quite a bit of built up static there especially on the remaining plastic parts. And winter is coming so it'll only get worse with reduced humidity and cold temps. Going to have to watch thi...

LOL awesome! Now for a rubber band loader clip thingy to reduce that pesky reload interval.

Re: Z AXIS DEPTH VARIATION
Check your router clamp. If you still have the plastic one make a mark on the router and kind of watch it while it is running. Mine was bobbing up and down ever so slightly when making cuts and I would never had been able to tell looking just at the wood. If you do have the plastic one a replacement...
