Basic Panel Re-Registration

I crashed my computer and re-installed the Basic Panel with drivers. Works fine, but now I am back in trial mode. I managed to misplace all the original documentation and so I don't know anymore if there was a serial number that came with my Shark Pro Plus to be entered or if I have to request a new...

Re: Shark Upgrades!

I built a new machine, too and used the Shark pro+ to cut the parts. However, since I already had the new control system I hooked that up with the steppers. I did not go for Mach3 because I hated messing with the parallel port and being unable to use a normal laptop. I used the Planet-CNC USB contro...

For Sale: Shark Pro Plus (Los Angeles Area)

Price $2,300 plus shipping Machine was used for 8 months and about 30-40 hours. I am selling because I upgraded to a bigger home-built machine. Therefore I am selling the Shark Pro Plus without the Vectric software , but including the Colt router. Local pickup is preferred and a sturdy rolling cart/...

Re: Wood Gear Clocks

I think I have seen a link here before but I use the GearGenerator3 from http://woodgears.ca/gear/index.html for involute or pinwheel spur or ring gears. Quite flexible and easy to use and only $20. It exports polyline dxf that can be imported into other CAD software or directly into Vcarve. The onl...

Re: Yes, we can do aluminum....

Thanks guys I'll give it a try...I was told by the manufacture of the alum sheet that I'm using that the router RPM should be about10,000. Your cutting at 20,000 though....the control panel for the shark indicates the feed rate % and I was cutting at the slowest of 25%...how does that relate to ipm...

Re: V-Carve in Bamboo Plywood

Yes, these are supported guide rods and affixed every 6" with 2 M6 bolts to the structure. This should not contribute much to the flex. I am quite happy with the progress but as always with my projects it takes about 3 times as long as anticipated and about twice as much money. If somebody wa...

Re: V-Carve in Bamboo Plywood

I am building a new, bigger CNC machine using the Shark Pro+ to cut the parts (out of bamboo, thus the name). This is the front plate of the gantry and to make it look less utilitarian I V-carved the text and the image of the bamboo (I had it on the Shark anyway for drilling the holes). Since the pl...

V-Carve in Bamboo Plywood

I could not resist some adornment of my new CNC, made on the Shark Pro+. This Bamboo plywood is excellent to machine, expecially for V-carving. The 90 degree bit did not leave any fuss or tears. I found the suitable font and the image on the Internet and converted in Vcarve 6. At some point I have t...
