No problem, I was just making the suggestion.

My Colt has never really gotten hot but then my longest run was 2-1/4 hours.

the longest run I've done on my bosch router
was 7 hrs. I did a 3D engraving on a 12 x 12 board
it was getting a little warm
but did not fail

Colt router Life....


I have the very first colt that I bought with my machine...THREE years ago.

About once a year....it gets some raspy noises coming from it....and if let run longer will start slowing
down and eventually stop. Change brushes ...and it works like brand new. Once I found this out...
I bought a bag of brushes and they are pretty cheap from bosch replacement parts website.

I also have a spare colt that I use for handwork in the event that the main one ever gives up the ghost.

I have left the machine running for 22 hours straight on the longest run...the router gets warm...but not
hot enough to turn off or give a break. I do all 3D work...light cuts as the machine can not handle heavy cuts
without deflecting.

I've had my colt router for 1 1/2 yrs without any problems. The longest I ran mine was 7 hrs straight. Router never got warm and still have the same brushes in them.

The only problem I've had is when the brushes start to get worn and there is increased arcing. This can mess up the data flow and stop the operation. After changing the brushes and nothing else, there is no further problem. I arrived at this solution by making an air cut with the router off. When the router was off there was no problem running the program.
