A 90 deg. for both of those pieces. Both are from the stain grade project boards at Lowe's.( $15.00 for a 12 x 72 x3/4 ) did wrap the one with oak.Most of the one's I do start out with a 12" x 12" I"ve been staining them with minwax early american then sand. In the shop now, will post some other pic's tonight and details. Most everything I've learned has come from this site, and the trail and error's have made some nice fire's in the burn pit.

Very nice! I like the optical ball too, in fact I was working on it last night. If you haven't, google Escher, some of his work lends itself very well to carving.
