Farm Sign

Post by jeb2cav »

Roughly 2' x 3' in size. Learned how to finish this at a sign camp in Indiana back in July. I've been able to repeat what I learned there. All techniques discussed on the 3D Sign Forum (http://www.3Dsignforum.com). Models are from VectorArt3D, VectorClip3D and scanned with probe.

Joe,

Looks like you did some learning. Looks really nice. At the sign do I turn right or left?

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

What kind of material did you use?

Hi Gerald - HDU. You can get this in different thicknesses. This was a single piece 1.5" thick.

Nice sign! What part did you scan? I bought a probe, but haven't learned how to use it yet!
Being retired is hard work. Spending way too much time in the shop these days. (And loving it).

Hi Keith - thanks. I scanned one of the honey comb wax sheets we use with our bee hives. I've also scanned a few other small pieces, but haven't spent a lot of time using the scanner (it did deliver though on the things the boss wanted!).

I know that the wax isn't all that firm! I'm surprised that the probe was that sensitive. That's good to know!

Hi Joe,

I saw your sign "in person" at the IWF/Atlanta Rockler booth this past weekend - very, very cool!
