I'm considering making a sign that is two feet wide by four feet long. I want my lettering and graphics to run parallel to the four foot side. i.e. the four foot side of the sign will be down. Is there an easy way to change the X and Y axis on my VCarve software. I know I can highlight words, graphics, etc. and then rotate them 90 degrees, achieving the approximate same result. It's just easier if I didn't have to rotate any lettering or graphics.

Re: Exchanging X and Y Axis
When I first set up my Shark I switched the wires so that the work comes out the same as the way you are looking at it in the V Carve program. It makes it much simpler when setting up your work and you don't need to constantly rotate letters 90 degrees. Many of us switched the x and y axis, try it I bet you leave it that way.

To expand on Fred's point - this post discusses steps to swap the X and Y axis orientation on your setup - http://cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 9722#p9718
One of the previous discussions on the mechanics of this are in this post - http://www.cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=473
You say 2' x 4' sign - it sounds like this might be beyond the extent of your table. You may want to give VCarve Pro 2.5 Tutorial 10 a look as VCarve can help you with doing this - http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectric/ ... _mach.html
Good luck and enjoy.

Re: Exchanging X and Y Axis
Just rotated my gantry 180 degrees, switched the X and Y cables going into the control box, and tried it out. It works great. It looks like you lose a little table length along the new X axis, but everything sure is easier to visualize now. Thanks for everyone's help.
