I wanted to try milling a truly 3D object--one that would be difficult to impossible with simple, 2-sided machining. I decided on a dodecahedron, which you might think of as a 60-sided die or a sphere made of triangles.

This might be possible to do with 4-sided machining, but not with this level of detail. The proof of concept also shows I could do interesting, non-symmetrical pieces like a car.
